Missed the Fireside Chat?

Hello VirtualUA Community,

My name is Shelton McCallop; I’m a VirtualUA, Inc. Executive Board member and Co-Founder; I want to thank you for spending some time with us this past Saturday while discussing our 2020 accomplishments, along with a few 2021 highlights from VirtualUA’s 2021 Flight Plan. As you all know, Coronavirus (COVID-19) impacted our lives and played a tremendous role in 2020, which cause some unpleasant experiences.

However, the community continued to support us by participating in many events and kept flying through the chaos. We couldn’t be more proud of each of you for your loyalty to our organization.

During the fireside chat, Robby Sayles, CEO, mentioned as of November 13, we filed 4,262 Flight Reports and accepted 148 new pilots during 2020. What a great accomplishment! We started 2020 with the separation from AAV Group. Next, we legally became VirtualUA, Inc, dissolving Virtual United Social Club; we also rebranded VirualUA, Inc. Our most significant task was a transition over to ATMOS 1.0, VirtualUA’s NextGen Pilot Operations system. Did you know we introduced a new aircraft program that replaced our legacy Pilot Ranking system?

Moving on, we also discussed VirtualUA’s Project 21, which is our Code name for the 2021 Roadmap. You can follow the “Flightplan” at 21.virtualua.org. Here’s what we’ll be focusing on :

VATSIM Training Program

Attending FSExpo 2021 (pending the COVID outcome)

Enhancing ATMOS with some new features and updates

Working on an In-house ACARS

Continuing with our Community Engagement (Quarterly events, Fireside Chats, and Partner Talks on Discord)

Introducing Altitude Virtual Rewards Program (avrp.virtualua.org) Launching in 2021

As you can see, we’ve been busy this year and have a full plate in 2021. We can’t thank our members enough for being a part of VirtualUA, Inc. this past year. Did you know we will be nine years old in 2021, which means we will start our 10th Anniversary preparations? Exciting times are ahead of us, and we hope you will continue to be a part of it.

Fun N Sun Event Update | July 22nd

Hey Pilots!

Sun N Fun is just around the corner; let’s update you on some things regarding the event. You MUST RSVP for this event since the gate space is limited. If you plan on attending Please, use this link to RSVP—https://bit.ly/funsun20 . Due to the size of the airports that we will be flying in and out of. We have put special procedures in place to prevent holding and delays. Your Route will be provided by our operations team approximately 1 hour before the first departure. Before the event begins, Pilots will be assigned a pushback slot spaced 15 minutes apart to provide additional sequencing. Missed pushback slots will move you to the back of the departure time table. Your callsign will be provided to you by the operations team. It is mandatory that you use this callsign for all the legs of the event. To prevent gate congestion at these smaller airports, you may not connect to VATSIM more than 25 minutes before your scheduled pushback slot to relieve congestion. We recommend to plan your fuel accordingly and bring some extra fuel onboard because missed approaches are expected at these airports! When choosing aircraft, please keep in mind the environment!

From all of us at VirtualUA, We hope to see you there!

Blue Skies!

Thank you for an amazing celebration!

Good Afternoon,

From all of the staff team here at VirtualUA we wanted to extend our greatest thank you for celebrating with us on Monday for our 8th Annual Birthday Bash. As you know the last 12 months has been turbulent for our organization however with the amount of people whom participated it gives us hope that the next 12 months will be better. It gave us the inspiration and hope that people are still interested and involved.

We’re currently investing in new technology for the organization. We’ve already made some enhancements to our current website and created the option for pilots to fly and track their flights using SmartCARS. There is a new website on the way that should go into Alpha in the next few weeks too! This is just the beginning of positive changes that you’ll see coming from us.

Without a doubt we’re so genuinely thankful for you and your membership to VirtualUA. If you were one of the pilots who did fly part of the Birthday Bash event, we’ve put together a short survey to gather some of your feedback. You can fill it out by clicking here. Also, if you were one of the pilots who participated and won a prize, we will be reaching out to you shortly.

Again, thank you for your dedication!
