A Thanksgiving Message

Dear VirtualUA Community,

Even with all the chaos 2020 has presented us with, there is still a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. We’d even argue one of the greatest gifts this challenging year has given us was a new perspective on the things we’ve been taking for granted all this time! A new perspective on just how grateful we are for the simplest of things. The staff here at VirtualUA would like to wish you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving. We know you have many virtual airline choices, and we are very thankful you have chosen us. Have a safe and healthy holiday season!

Blue Skies,
Derek George

Missed the Fireside Chat?

Hello VirtualUA Community,

My name is Shelton McCallop; I’m a VirtualUA, Inc. Executive Board member and Co-Founder; I want to thank you for spending some time with us this past Saturday while discussing our 2020 accomplishments, along with a few 2021 highlights from VirtualUA’s 2021 Flight Plan. As you all know, Coronavirus (COVID-19) impacted our lives and played a tremendous role in 2020, which cause some unpleasant experiences.

However, the community continued to support us by participating in many events and kept flying through the chaos. We couldn’t be more proud of each of you for your loyalty to our organization.

During the fireside chat, Robby Sayles, CEO, mentioned as of November 13, we filed 4,262 Flight Reports and accepted 148 new pilots during 2020. What a great accomplishment! We started 2020 with the separation from AAV Group. Next, we legally became VirtualUA, Inc, dissolving Virtual United Social Club; we also rebranded VirualUA, Inc. Our most significant task was a transition over to ATMOS 1.0, VirtualUA’s NextGen Pilot Operations system. Did you know we introduced a new aircraft program that replaced our legacy Pilot Ranking system?

Moving on, we also discussed VirtualUA’s Project 21, which is our Code name for the 2021 Roadmap. You can follow the “Flightplan” at 21.virtualua.org. Here’s what we’ll be focusing on :

VATSIM Training Program

Attending FSExpo 2021 (pending the COVID outcome)

Enhancing ATMOS with some new features and updates

Working on an In-house ACARS

Continuing with our Community Engagement (Quarterly events, Fireside Chats, and Partner Talks on Discord)

Introducing Altitude Virtual Rewards Program (avrp.virtualua.org) Launching in 2021

As you can see, we’ve been busy this year and have a full plate in 2021. We can’t thank our members enough for being a part of VirtualUA, Inc. this past year. Did you know we will be nine years old in 2021, which means we will start our 10th Anniversary preparations? Exciting times are ahead of us, and we hope you will continue to be a part of it.

Annual Holiday Event

VirtualUA, Inc. is thrilled to announce our annual Holiday event, Home for the Holidays. The event will take place on December 12 at 2200z. We want to thank REX Simulations, Hifi Simulation Technologies, ORBX Simulations Systems, Flightbeam Studios, FS2CREW, Just Flight, Aerosoft, and Flight1 for their continued support of our community here at VirtualUA, Inc. Fall 2020 Message from CEO

Dear VirtualUA Community,

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support. This year we have accomplished so much, and it wouldn’t be possible without you. We separated from AAV Group and rebranded as VirtualUA Incorporated as a 501c3 Non Profit organization. Became SkyBlue Radio Virtual Airline of the year, we also released our new website name ATMOS, VirtualUA nextGEN Pilot Center, and we are continuously working on improving it. We hosted the first-ever virtual party on our Discord Server for the MSFS2020 release. We are committed to continually improving our services and programs and welcoming your ideas and suggestions. Our next upcoming event, Fall Foliage, is in its final preparations. The event will take place on October 18th, and we’re headed to the northeast to taste the fall season! On behalf of my staff team, I would like to thank you for your support and participation in our great community!

Blue Skies,

September 2020 Operations Update

Hello VirtualUA Pilots,

From your Operations Department, here is our September update.
As you can see here are our flight statistics for the month. KSFO is leading the way with KORD in a close second. With a few more days left in the month, let’s see who the top hub of the month is.

HubSeptember
HQ
KORD98
KIAH61
KDEN9
KSFO102
KLAX10
KEWR36
KIAD78
PGUM7
Totals:423
Avg Per Day:16.26923077

In case you have not seen, we have two new Regional Hub Directors. For the Hubs: KSFO, KDEN, KIAH, and KLAX is William Beaumont and for KEWR, KORD, KIAD, and PGUM is Eddie Goff. They are there to ensure all pilots are taken care of and to make your experience at VirtualUA a fun one.  I know we have a bunch of new pilots who have joined and we want to welcome you to the VirtualUA family. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us so we can start you off on the right  path.

Also, We have been reviewing and revising the Pilot Handbook and once released there are a few items to note. In the handbook, there are certain criteria for PIREPS to be accepted as a completed flight. In the past, and due to changes in technology and staff, we have been lenient with the PIREPS.  Once the Pilot Handbook has been released The Operations Department will be reviewing and providing feedback based on the information received. If you find you are having troubles in certain areas that are the minimum standard, please reach out to our training department who can help.

As always without you as the pilots we would not be the success we are today. Thank you and safe flights!

Respectfully,
Chris Porras

Managing Director, Hub Operations

What makes VirtualUA Unique?

VirtualUA has been in operation for almost a decade. We have created a platform where we have adapted to the changing flight sim world. We’ve branched out and engaged with our pilots both virtually and with local events. Most recently, we participated in Flight Sim Expo and before that Flight Sim Con. We continue to develop pilot-friendly technology platforms and continually take feedback and implement it in our policies and technology. What sets us apart from the rest and what is most important is our people. Without our member base and staff team, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Thank you to those of you that have continued to support us through the years. We couldn’t do it without you.
